Yvonne Powell was born August 14,1952 in New York City to the late Naomi and John Powell Sr. Yvonne attended Brandeis High School. After high school, she went on to (TCI) College of Technology.
Yvonne worked as a child care provider for two years before joining Partners in Care Home Health Care Agency. She enjoyed caring for the elderly, and would often meet with one or two of her clients on her day off for a stroll in the park. Yvonne worked as a home care provider for 8 years before taking ill and having to leave her job.
Yvonne was a member of Elemendorf Reformed Church. She was baptized in 2003.
Yvonne was a caring and fun loving individual that would do anything to help anyone in need. She loved music and was an excellent dancer. When a song came on that she was passionate about, Yvonne would start dancing. She lived life to the fullest.
Yvonne met her soul mate Curtis Hezekiah in 1979. This union lasted until her death on March 7, 2014. She entered into this union with her ten year old daughter, Jetuan Epps. Curtis became the proud and loving stepfather to Jetuan.
Yvonne leaves to mourn and cherish fond memories: her devoted soul mate, Curtis Hezekiah; daughter, Jetuan Epps McGrant III; brother, John Powell; four nieces, Jaugenia Powell, Delphia White, Areathia Powell, and Sheba Powell; cousin, Gail Franklin; son-in-law, Leroy McGrant III; sister-in-law, Renee Powell; two godchildren, Alvin Arnold and Latoya; and a host of relatives and friends.
Yvonne will be dearly missed by all whose lives she touched.
