Yvette Michelle
Hinton
Feb 28, 1968 — Nov 29, 2022
Yvette Hinton was born on February 28, 1968, in Harlem, NY, to the late Alma Hinton and the late Lieutenant Spears. On Tuesday morning, November 29th, 2022, our heavenly father called Yvette home to rest. Yvette attended Mount Calvary Baptist Church in Harlem, NY, as a young child with her mom.
Yvette attended all her primary education in the New York City Department of Education school system. She graduated from Seward Park HS in lower Manhattan, where she received her High school diploma. She furthered her education and attended Kingsborough Community College, where she received her Associate Degree in Applied Science.
After schooling, Yvette joined the United States Armed Forces, where she spent many years serving in various capacities. Receiving awards for good conduct, the army of occupation medal, the national defense service medal, and the army service ribbon/Sharpshooter marksmanship badge rifle, to name a few. Yvette served over 15 years between active duty and army reserves. She retired with an honorable discharge. She was loved by so many.
The joy of her life was becoming a mother to two beautiful daughters, Jasmine and Evelyn.
Yvette was a dedicated and dependable employee who worked as a watchman at the Henry J. Carter skilled nursing facility. Between her military career and her employment, Yvette gained close friendships with many. She will always be remembered for her humor, her laughter, and modeling, and she had a keen eye for design. That was her hobby. Do not forget shopping was one of her delightful past times. If anyone mentioned shopping, she was always ready to go.
Our dear Yvette was talented in so many ways. Still, most importantly, she left us a legacy of love, determination, selflessness, humility, trustworthiness, creativity, and a kind and thoughtful heart that will live with us forever.
Yvette was preceded in death by her parents, Alma Hinton and Lieutenant Spears.
Yvette leaves to treasure loving memories: her daughters, Jasmine and Evelyn Hinton (NY); one granddaughter, Zamoria (NY); her siblings by virtue of her father: three sisters, Robin Wilkins (NY), Sonia Tunstall (NY), and Selena Roye (NY). five brothers: Greg, Hondre, Zoe (NY), Landuis, (PA), and Kevin (MA). Three aunts: Joyce Hinton (NY), Levonia Mason (VA), and Edna Spears-Smith (Cyril Smith Jr.) of Bronx, NY; two uncles: Oscar Spears of Temple Hills and Joe Spears (Hue) of Las Vegas, Nevada; a special friend, Tommie Turner; and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, family members, and friends.
Lovingly submitted The Family.
