Wilhelmina Anderson (affectionately known as Mina) was born in New York City on July 3, 1931, to her parents, Wilson and Ernestine Grant. She was one of seven children.
Wilhelmina attended Commerce High School in New York City and upon graduation enlisted in the United States Navy from 1952 - 1956. After receiving an honorable discharge, Wilhelmina began her work career for New York State. She subsequently became a Revenue Officer at the Internal Revenue Service for 32 years, from which she retired.
Wilhelmina was a life-long Harlem resident, and lived in the Riverton Housing Complex for over 30 years. She was a wonderful and caring neighbor to her "Little Riverton" family and friends.
Wilhelmina was a loving and courageous single mother to her beloved daughter, Melenie, and she adored her son-in-law, Anthony and grandson, Anson.
Wilhelmina departed this life on Friday, June 10, 2022, joining her parents and siblings, who preceded her in death.
Wilhelmina leaves to mourn and cherish her memories: her devoted daughter, Melenie Small; son-in-law, Anthony Small; grandson, Anson Small; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends.
Wilhelmina Anderson will be dearly missed by all whose lives she touched.
