Wanda Miriam
Mcdaniel-Fennell
Nov 15, 1965 — Apr 27, 2023
Wanda Mirium McDaniel-Fennell was born on November 15, 1965, to the late Sharon A. Patrick and Luther McDaniel. She was called home to rest on April 27, 2023, after a long courageous battle with an illness.
Wanda McDaniel-Fennell, age 58, was united in marriage to Leon Fennell on March 8, 1991. They met on 125th Street and fell in love instantly. She was also an adoring mother of four. Wanda was born in 1965 in Harlem, NY. She grew up surrounded by a large family. Later, she relocated to North Carolina in 2002. Wanda had four sisters, four brothers, and many cousins, aunts, and uncles. Wanda loved all her family dearly and took pride in being there for them. As a mother, she was generous, loving and caring. Wanda became a grandmother in 2006. She was a phenomenal Nana. She never told her four grandchildren "NO." She enjoyed spoiling them. In her free time, she enjoyed traveling. She loved visiting other countries, family vacations, going to the mountains, and visiting family in New York.
During Wanda's life, she was able to accomplish great things. Wanda got her Associate's degree at Monroe College and her Bachelor's degree at Iona College. She also attended UNC, obtaining her Master's and Queen's College to further her education. Wanda worked as a direct care support for 25+ years in the Health Care system. She was strong, loving, hardworking, and always willing to help others. Her family and friends will greatly miss her.
We know we can't have you, but we're happy knowing the angels finally have you back. Goodbye to a wonderful woman and a beautiful mother.
Wanda leaves to mourn: a loving husband, Leon; two daughters, Shaquana and Mirium; two sons, Matthew and Raheem; four grandchildren, Ja'den, Ja'nyah, Brial, and Syier; four sisters, Tanya, Rhonda, Yolanda, and Lisa; three brothers, Little Luther, John John, and Demetrius; father, Luther; and a host of other family and friends.
