Obituary

Tyrone Christopher Williams, beloved son of Warnell Johnson and James Williams, was born on October 2, 1960, in Harlem, NY. He passed away on February 2, 2023. Growing up, Tyrone was passionate about working out. He kept his body in impeccable shape, and with that chiseled physique and thunderous voice, you always knew he was around. Tyrone knew the neighborhood of that famous 129 Street, and everyone knew him. Tyrone was not rich by any means, but with his generous heart, if you needed something or something done, he was there to help. Living at 2 West, Tyrone was a mentor to his younger brother, Derek and cousins, Jamal and Sincere. Sylvester and Kevin, who all looked at him as their "uncle." Whether he was doing pushups with them on his back or sneaking them in the kitchen late at night to make his famous "Grool", which consisted of eggs, rice, chicken leftover, and anything he could find until Mama chased us out of the kitchen. During those meals, Tyrone taught us life lessons and conversed with us in a way only he could. We know his words groomed us, and we loved the "Grool".

Tyrone was always around, minus his little "vacations" with that boisterous laugh and often inappropriate and corny jokes you just had to laugh at them. A self-proclaimed lady's man, it is only fitting that the love of his life are his three beautiful daughters, Sherell, Dalilah, and Symphony. You couldn't tell him anything about his babies, and you knew to watch your mouth when discussing them.

Tyrone grew up in church, thanks to his grandparents, so he knew God in his heart. Although he didn't frequent church as much, his heart was filled with love, which is evident in the many lives he touched and the many people who loved him. Although the Lord saw fit to call you home, your laugh, smile, big heart, and mentorship will be missed but passed down. Tyrone was a true Man's Man and a great son of 129 Street.

Tyrone was predeceased by his grandparents, Bertha and Warren Sr.; parents, Warnell and James; siblings, Betty Ann (Peanut) and Jimmy; uncles, Warren Jr. (Buddy), Willie, and Thomas; and cousins, Sincere and Kevin.

Tyrone is survived by his children, Sherell, Delilah, and Symphony; brother, Derek; uncle, David; aunt Linda; cousins, Jamal and Sylvester; along with a host of grandchildren, extended family, and friends.

Rest in Paradise Unc, one of 129 Street brightest stars.

You will continue to shine through us!!!!!!
