Troy Cheno Phillips was born in New Orleans, Louisiana to his proud parents, Diane and Alvin Phillips, on January 7, 1965. He was the third of nine children.
Troy attended Julia Richman and Wadleigh high school. He worked as a Butcher. Family and friends were especially important to Troy. He was well-loved by the community.
You could often find Troy on 116th Street between 7th and 8th Avenues with his friends. He also enjoyed listening to music, riding bikes, eating ice cream, and watching the Discovery Channel with his family. He was easygoing, funny, loving, loyal, and kind which made everyone love him even more.
Troy was in a 22 year long relationship with Shanay Bellamy.
Troy was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Diane Phillips; three siblings, Leslie Phillips, Julius Phillips, and Ernest Jones; and one son, Christian-Pierre-a Phillips (Budda).
Troy leaves to mourn and cherish fond memories: two sons, Troy Thompson and Kasiem Alexander Smith; two daughters, Tanisha Allen, and Shani Denise Phillips; four brothers, Alvin Phillips Jr., Kevin Phillips, Farris Phillips, and Jules Phillips; one sister, Donna Shamanie Phillips; and a host of other relatives and dear friends.
Troy will be missed dearly by all whose lives he touched.
