Obituary

Stephen Paul Simon was born in Manhattan New York to his proud parents Edward and Jean Simon on March 11,1951. He was the second born of two children, Him and his sister Cheryl. Stephen attended elementary school at The Modern School in Harlem, NY. Junior high school at JHS 52 and graduated from George Washington high school in 1969. He then attended college in Minnesota, then Pace University and then Bronx Community College. It was at BCC where he met Blanch Lashley. They went on their first date on February 16,1974.He loved her for her laugh and she loved him for his hazel light eyes. Six months later Stephen proposed to Blanch and were married on the 17th of February 1979. Between dating and marriage, they were true to each other for forty-three years. Stephen held an occupation as a carpenter working side by side with his father Ed and uncle Johnny at a place named Ebony Floors. Then in 1993 he filled the position of Emergency Medical Technician for the city of New York. For 20 years he rescued many people and saved many lives in the line of duty and had a gracious, caring and faithful spirit for his fellowman and the family. He was a true angel of the people. His hobbies included basketball, football, baseball and riding down the street with the members of his house. He was confirmed at St Luke's AME church as a boy and often performed duties as an altar boy in his childhood. Stephen affectionately called "Fuzzy" was a great man and his works are commended by God himself. Stephen departed this life on March 9, 2022 and it will of great comfort to all of us in the knowledge that he will share in the resurrection and the life of Christ and has gone on to join his beautiful parents and his giving wife. He leaves to mourn and cherish fond memories: his daughter Nicole, his grandson Phillip, his sister Cheryl, his cousin Sandy, his cousin Venice, his cousin Jade, his niece Cassandra, his nephew David his father-in-law Milton, his sister-in-law Karen, his brothers-in-law Milton II and Steven and a host of Children in Nieces, Nephews and Friends. Praise the Lord for his passions in life, he will be dearly missed by those whose lives he touched. Praise God Forever
