Shirley J. Stewart was born on September 10, 1964 in New York City to the late Crosby and Bertha Ann Campbell.
Shirley attended the New York City Public School System. She worked as a laborer with her best friend, Sylvia Charles.
In 1953, Shirley married the late Eddie Stewart, Jr. This union was blessed with one daughter, Delores Elaine Stewart. Upon Delores' passing, Shirley raised her grandsons, Robert Warren, Jr. and Cory Warren.
Shirley loved to entertain her family and friends at her house on the weekends with food, drinks, and music. Her favorite drink was vodka and grapefruit juice. Shirley was famous for calling you the wrong name, but you knew she was talking to you because she would look directly at you. Sometimes, she would give you a new name like: Susie, Lullabelle, Nookie, or Banessa, and that was your name for life. Her favorite words were "regardless" and "ya know". If you pissed her off, she would tell you "Get the ---- out of my house".
On New Year's Eve 2014, Shirley was called home due to medical complications. She will be missed and her memory will be cherished in our hearts forever.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, and three siblings, Marjorie, Crosby, Jr. and Sandra.
She leaves to mourn: two grandsons, Robert Warren Jr. and Cory Warren; two sisters Barbara Barner and Denise Ravenell; a cousin, Charlotte; a son-in-law, Robert Warren, Jr.; her significant other, Sonny; godchildren, Tiana and Kiana; a host of great grandchildren, great nieces, great nephews, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
