Shenequa Scott was born to Mary Jackson and the late Alexander Scott on May 18, 1991. She was born in Youngstown, Ohio, where she lived until age 3. In 1996, Shenequa, her mom, Mary, and brothers Alexander and Charles moved to 333 East 181 Street, the Bronx, New York, where she grew up. Nequa, as she was affectionately known, attended PS 9 and IS 137. Nequa attended and graduated from Dodge high school in the Bronx, where she studied Cosmetology. Hair and making the girls look good was her thing! Shenequa worked various jobs from HHA, including retail and masseuse. She also worked for Exhale Spa company until Covid-19 hit us tremendously. Nequa loved to cook, listen to music, and hang out with her friends but most importantly, she loved hanging out with her brother, Co, who was a road dog. If you saw one, you saw the other. If not, she would be with her best friend, provider, protector, and partner in crime, her mother Mary, whom she loved dearly. Shenequa was one of a kind who will be remembered for her laugh, her humor, and definitely her smile. In early 2012, Shenequa became with child by her long-time crush, Kamel Warren. On October 20, 2012, she gave birth to their baby boy, Kamel Warren Jr, who changed her life for the better. Nequa loved her son dearly and knew she had something and someone who looked up to her and depended on her. Becoming a parent was something she loved very much. His paternal grandparents, Renee and Percy, loved Shenequa dearly. They offered an abundance of help, love, and support for Cashmere (a.k.a. Kamel). Growing up in the 3s, Nequa met a host of people. Friends who became family. That's where Nequa learned about life. At the 3s, she became a big sister to some, a motivator to others, but a cook to everyone. Nequa loved to cook for the community, and she did that daily. On August 3, 2022, she departed this life. Shenequa was preceded in death by her father, Alexander Scott Sr.; her grandmother, Bert Jackson; and her brother, Alexander Jr. Shenequa Scott leaves to cherish fond memories: her son, Cash; her mother, Mary; her brothers, Alexander III "CO", Alex, Alijah, and Isaiah; four sisters, Caralissa, Alexis S., Alexis A., and Lequala; eight aunts, Shirley and Brenda Jackson, Felicia Crystal, Janet, Shawna, Nicole, and Alveena Scott; six uncles Cleveland, Joseph, Robert, and Artice Jackson, Lester, and LC Scott; and her favorite cousin, Jimmy Vanderhall. Nequa also leaves to mourn a host of cousins, close family, and friends who will miss her dearly.
