Obituary

Ruth Mae Gee was born on June 22, 1939, in Timmonsville, South Carolina, to the late Mac Brooks and Hazel Thomas. She was raised in South Carolina, where she attended school and graduated from Wilson High School.

Ruth later made New York her home, where she built a life centered around family, love, and the people who meant the most to her. She was employed by Chase Manhattan Bank as a Data Processor, where she dedicated many years of her life to her work.

Ruth’s faith in God was a deeply meaningful part of her life. She carried her faith with her wherever she went, sharing the Word of God through lessons with the youth, heartfelt conversations with friends and peers, and everyday moments with those around her. Her faith was not simply something she spoke about, it was something she lived.

Ruth had a generous heart and believed in helping others whenever she could. If she had the means to help someone in need, she would give what she could without hesitation. She loved her children deeply and took great pride in the family she built, not only within her home but throughout the community she called home. To Ruth, family extended beyond blood; it included the many people she welcomed, supported, encouraged, and loved along the way.

Ruth was preceded in death by her beloved family members, Brenda and Dexter Gee.

Ruth leaves to cherish her memory, her sister, Deloris Brooks; her two sons, Eddie Gee and Noel Brown; eight grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who were blessed to know and love her.

Ruth’s life was a gift to all who knew her. She leaves behind more than memories—she leaves a legacy of family, love, laughter, and countless moments that will be treasured for generations to come. Though she is no longer with us in body, her presence will remain in the hearts of her family and friends. Her love will continue through the lives of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all those she touched along the way.

Ruth Mae Gee will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished.
