With heavy hearts and deep gratitude, we celebrate the life of Rosemarie Johnson, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and faithful woman of God. She was the heart of her family, loving deeply, laughing often, and never missing an opportunity to bring the people she loved together.

Known to her family as Tuttie, Rosemarie was born on December 21, 1945, in New York. During her youth, she lived in Cleveland, Ohio, and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, before returning to New York.

For many years, she worked as an IT Programmer for MB Trucking Company. In 2011, Rosemarie recognized that her mother needed full-time care. Without hesitation, she made the selfless decision to retire early from MB Trucking Company in 2012 so she could devote herself entirely to caring for her. She faithfully remained by her mother’s side until her passing in June 2024, giving her love, strength, and unwavering support every day. She gave that love freely, expecting nothing in return.

Rosemarie had a joyful spirit that was impossible to ignore. She was funny, feisty, and always ready to laugh. She loved music, and whenever Bruno Mars’ That’s What I Like or Ben E. King’s A Rose in Spanish Harlem came on, you could count on her enjoying every beat.

One of her greatest joys was traveling. She especially loved cruising and had almost reached Platinum status, always looking forward to her next trip. But what she loved even more was sharing those experiences with the people she loved. She was often the one planning family reunion vacations, making sure everyone came together, laughed, relaxed, and created memories that would last a lifetime.

A devoted Christian and longtime member of Fellowship Tabernacle COGIC, Rosemarie’s faith guided her throughout her life. She lived her faith not only in what she believed, but in the way she cared for others.

Above all else, she loved her family. She leaves behind four devoted daughters, Cyndi, Angie, Jenine, and Monique; one son, Kendell; four grandchildren, DJ, Destiny, Kevin Jr., and Justin; three great-grandchildren, Kiara, Nylah, and Zahir; siblings John, Eileen, Victoria, Felicia, Ruth, Ronnie, Mary, Ramell, and Massiah; two sons-in-law, Kasheme and Kevin Sr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, church family, and dear friends who will forever cherish the time they shared with her.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Herman; mother, Dolores; father, Thrameah Sr.; son, Kevin; and siblings, Thrameah Jr. (“Baby Joe”), Ludell, Vanessa, and Jamell.

Although we will miss her deeply, we find comfort knowing that the love she gave so freely lives on in each of us. Her laughter, her strength, her faith, and the memories she created will continue to be a blessing to all who knew and loved her.
