Rose Marie E. O'Connor (Nee Heer), age 89, passed into eternal rest on January 27, 2022. Rose Marie was predeceased by her mother Sarah "Sally" Heer, father Paul P. Heer, her brother Paul D. Heer, and last but never least, her beloved husband Louis T. O'Connor. She was also predeceased by her "luvvies and honeys" son, Mark O'Connor and her daughter Doreen (O'Connor) DeVivo. She is survived by and will be greatly missed by her grandchildren Alyssa Ann DeVivo and Dennis G. DeVivo, her son-in-law Dennis DeVivo, and her sister Lorraine (Heer) Elfhaiel.
She is also survived by and will be missed by her nieces and nephews Thomas P. Heer (Margaret), Christine Heer (Lin) and Paul "Jerry" Heer (Kim), Cathy O'Connor (Tom), Maryann O'Connor (Doug) and Gregory O'Connor (Leigh). She was also predeceased by her dear nephew David J. Heer and niece Marguerite "Maggie" O'Connor.
Rose Marie was a lifelong resident of the Yorkville neighborhood of New York City. She worked for Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield for nearly 43 years, retiring as an Executive Assistant to the President of the company. Rose Marie retired with her beloved Louie to travel and to spend more time with her family. Together, they spent many wonderful weekends and vacations in Point Pleasant Borough, NJ with family and friends, old and new. Rose Marie would be described by anyone who knew her as a classy lady: hair done up, make-up perfect and dressed to the nines. She enjoyed music and dancing, socializing and laughing, cooking and caring.
