Richard Arthur Wadkins was born in Flushing, New York on May 12, 1936 to the late Emily Irene Daniels and Ozelle Wadkins. He was educated in the Corona school system. He met and married Patricia Jackson. He began a career in the transport trucking industry as a commercial truck driver for United Parcel Service and furthered his career as a tractor trailer driver with Associated Transport Corp. In 2009, he gave his heart to the Lord and joined the Salvation and Deliverance Church. After a long illness, the Lord called him home on March 31, 2014. He leaves to cherish fond memories: surviving spouse, Patricia Wadkins, brother and sister-in-law Robert and Carolyn, his children: Phillip, Richard, Matthew, Darin, Guy, Angela, and Charlotte. One granddaughter, and one great grandson; he was a surrogate father to: Shirlene, Michelle, Linda, Kamisha, Arkayna, and Joy, a life-long friend and sister, Dolores, and a host of relatives and friends.
