Michelle "Sissy" Ray Milligan was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She left this world on March 20, 2021 at age 61.
Sissy was born to Alice Faye Strayhorn Ray and Richard Deralph Ray on July 4, 1959 at Mount Sinai Hospital. She was raised in Harlem, NY and had three siblings; Rhonda, Allison and Richard Ray Jr.
As a youth, Sissy ran track and field, was great at handball and loved to party. She was on the honor roll as a high school student. She loved spending time with her cousins, with her favorite being the late Bobby Joseph. She produced her oldest son, Marvin Ray in 1978 with Marvin Jenkins. She met her husband, Kevin Milligan in 1980, and that union produced three children: Darris, Steven, and Neesha Milligan. Michelle attended church services on Sundays at the Church of Resurrection with her mother and grandmother.
Michelle enjoyed spending time in the kitchen preparing meals for her family. But, she also enjoyed eating out and loved seafood. She was a dedicated Home Health Aide for 20 years with an impeccable work ethic and a true passion for the care of her clients. She loved listening to music, while dancing to her favorite artist, Mary J. Blige and her favorite song, "Before I Let You Go," by Frankie Beverly and Maze.
