Mary Magdalene Samuel Riley was born January 3, 1934 in Sumter, South Carolina, to the late Willie Samuel and Lillian Boyd. Mary attended school in South Carolina then migrated to New York. Within her journey, Mary married the late Wendell Riley and was blessed with five children, Deloris, Betty, William, Sharon and Ava. Mary was a go-getter. She started her own business, opening a furniture store. She continued her self employment up until she got of age and retired. Mary continued on with life, not letting anything stop her taking care of her family, taking her walks, and making money like she knew how. Playing numbers was one of her favorites. Mary kept going on until her health slowed her down, and that didn't stop her. Only when God called her home and told her, "Rest, I got this", did she stop. Mary took her last bow with us on Sunday, January 30, 2022 at the age of 88. She was preceded in death by her son, William; daughter, Sharon; stepson, Garret, and her grandson, Cedric. Mary leaves to mourn and cherish fond memories: her children, Betty, Deloris and Ava; stepson, Gerald; extended generation grandchildren, Molik, Tony, Tyrone, Davani (Day Day), Damiyon, Dayon, and Dante; eight great grandchildren; one great great grand; three sons-in-law; and a host family, friends and neighbors.
