Martha Dupree was born March 10, 1929 in Jeffress, Virginia to John and Minnie Oliver.
She received her early education in Hackensack, New Jersey school district. On November 15, 1943, she married Clyde Wilson Daley. This union was blessed with two daughters, Maressa Johnson-Kize and Joyce Daley-Abernathy.
Mom always enjoyed the pleasure of her husband. She was a lover of Peg Leg Bay because her husband Norman was a Golfer. She and her friends would often picnic there. She liked to travel and did a lot of that. Mom loved to shop and look good. Her love for dress hats, caps, shoes and pocket books were off the chain. Everything matching. Both her daughters took on the shopping bug. Above everything else, Martha loved to cook. She worked all her life cooking some where in Harlem until she retired.
