Marie Dowdell, our beloved, was born on March 22, 1941 in Auburn, Alabama. She was the fourth of ten children from the union of her late parents, David and Angeline Dowdell. Marie and family migrated to New York. After settling in New York City, Marie graduated from Julia Richman High School in 1958. She then worked various jobs in the City. Tuta, as Marie was affectionally called, was a God fearing woman who loved the Lord and helping her mother rear her younger siblings. Always giving and loving, whenever she would catch you out and about, she always had a smile and a fond hello to all her friends. She also gave sound advice to her younger siblings who she helped her Mother raise. She even baby-sat her nephews while her sisters worked. On the gentle side, Tuta had a trusting heart, but didn't hesitate putting you in your place if needed. On June 18, 2020, our beloved Marie joined in spirit with her brothers and sister: Charlie, James, Robert, Asyrine, Katherine, Manson, and Leroy. Marie is survived by and leaves to cherish loving memories: her two loving sisters: Johnniemae Adams and Anne Dowdell; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and countless friends who are also feeling a great loss. A loving soul has touched so many during her life here on earth. But, we are assured that our beloved has found a resting place in the care of our heavenly Father. Lovingly submitted by, The Family
