Obituary

Marcelle Lamothe was born on December 28, 1925 in Gonaives Haiti to Lamercie Adeclat and Leon Laurent. The second eldest of 8 children. Marcelle was married to Jean Joseph Lamothe for 70 years until his death in June 2013. Together they raised 8 children, two of which died in infancy. Adeline Louis, Denise Lamothe-St. Louis (deceased), Jacques Lamothe (deceased), Marie Jocelyne Lamothe, Serge Lamothe and Walter Lamothe. Marcelle was a home maker and was affectionately called "Granma" by everyone. She was truly everyone's grandmother or "Ma-Ma". To know her was to Love her. If you needed a meal, or a place to stay she was there. Always with a smile on her face and ready for a laugh or cause one. Our peace maker and confidante; she could be trusted with any and everything from money to secrets. Granma was resourceful and knew how to make the best out of a bad situation; something wonderful with limited resources. Her strength and resourcefulness were to be admired. She was truly a Proverbs 31 woman who always had an encouraging word to share and a bible verse to support it. Her favorite verse to share was Exodus 14:14, "The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still", knowing her and the way she lived, we are confident that the LORD took on all her battles! Marcelle was preceded in death by her eldest son Jacques Lamothe and her husband of 70 years. She is survived by her 4 children and their spouses: Adeline Louis and her husband Belfond Louis, Marie Jocelyne Lamothe, Serge Lamothe and his wife Magda Lamothe, and Walter Lamothe and his wife Claudia Lamothe; Fifteen (15) grandchildren and their spouses: Hans Louis and wife Altagracia Louis, Danie Saint-Louis, Jean Wesner Saint-Louis and his wife Claudine Saint-Louis, Robert Louis, Sabine Desrosier and her husband Michael Desrosier, Gerald Louis, Frantzy Charles and his wife Emmanuela Charles, Emmanuel Louis and his wife Brenda, Darlie Eguabor and her husband Bright Eguabor, Gardner Homere and his wife Felicia Belisle, Kindersley Lamothe, Georgia Elysee, Wahad Lamothe, Lidgemy Lamothe and Charisse Lamothe. Nineteen (19) great grandchildren: Johnathan Louis. Crystal Louis, Isabelle Desrosier, Hans Christopher Louis II and his wife Katie L. Mauer Louis, Jolie Marcelle Louis, Katina Louis, Jayna Louis, Elijah Desrosier, Joanna Louis, Sincere Louis, Ariana Homere, Imani Louis, Jaeden Caseras, Dylan Charles, Nephtalie Saint-Louis, Sarah Saint-Louis, Jean Daniel Saint-Louis, Kaylee Louis, Ese Eliana Eguabor. Seven (7) great great grandchildren; Jayden Harris, Jaleya Harris, Handy Luc, Jemiah Louis, Adeline G. Louis, Jazmise Louis, Hans Louis III and a host of nieces, nephews extended family and friends. She will be truly missed and is incredibly loved but we understand that she is with the LORD, because the Word tells us in 2 Corinthians 5:8, to be absent from the body is to be present with the LORD! WE LOVE YOU GRANMA!!
