Manuel T.
Narvaez
Apr 22, 1933 — Oct 3, 2022
Manuel T. Narvaez Jr. was born in Harlem on April 22, 1933, to Manuel T. Narvaez Sr. and his wife, Bessie Luckett Narvaez. He was the second youngest son of nine children.
He was an adventurous boy with a playful spirit. After finishing high school, Manuel joined the Marine Corp. and served his time honorably. Upon leaving, he met Marva Thomas, and they married, having three children Manuel III, Kim, and Scott Narvaez.
He loved sports and was an exceptional softball player. He was constantly sought out by teams to play for them because of his athletic skills in the game. He dedicated a large part of his life to working for Manhattan Psychiatric Hospital, where he was allowed to go back to college and earn his degree. He did so well that he went as far as earning a Master's Degree in Nursing Psychology. Manuel retired after giving 25 years of service and later was recruited to work at Payne Whitney at NY Presbyterian Hospital for an additional ten years
He was a man who loved life, loved his family, and always spoke it as he saw it. He pulled no punches and had a great sense of humor. He was a great man who took care of his responsibilities in life and LOVED ALL his family immensely. May his spirit find peace and let him reunite with his siblings and parents in the heavenly thereafter.
Manuel is survived by his children, Manuel III, Kim, and Scott; six grandchildren, Shayla, Diamond, Torre, Aaron, Christopher, and Enjoy; his seven great-grandchildren, Maiah, London, Levi, Merel, Grace Royal, and Haylin; his three sisters Corina, Bessita, and Anita; and a host of family and friends.
Lovingly Submitted by The Family
