Lois
Davis
Jun 5, 1927 — Sep 19, 2022
Lois (Lulu) Davis
The one we knew and loved slipped away at Isabella Geriatric Nursing Center on September 19, 2022, here in New York City. We must not mourn for Lois (Lulu) Davis. She has gone to get the great reward promised to all who faithfully serve the Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was the baby girl of twelve children. She was born to parents Sipp and Mattie Wallace Davis, on June 5, 1927, in Fort Gaines, Georgia.
Lois Davis attended the public schools of Clay County, Georgia, and was fellow shipped into the New Hope AME Church family at an early age.
Later she moved to New York City, where she worked and joined First AME Church Bethel. She worshipped there for many years before being admitted to the Isabella Geriatric Center.
Those left to cherish precious memories are her son, Rosby Benefield, of SanAntonio Texas, and four grandchildren, Lisa Marie Benefield, Rosby Benefield Jr. (deceased), Barry Benefield, 8 Great grandchildren, a niece Maxine Wright, and two nephews, Roosevelt Davis and Ronnie Lockett, along with many sorrowing friends.
