Linda Johnson was born in New York City on December 23, 1947 to Isaac and Izola Johnson. She departed this life on Saturday, February 27, 2021.
Linda was educated, from Kindergarten through High School, in the Public School System in New York City.
Linda was formerly employed in the retail industry before her retirement.
Linda had two children, Denise and Willie (R.I.P.).
Throughout her childhood, she received her religious training at Second Canaan Baptist Church where she was a member of the Junior Usher Board. When Linda recommitted her life back to the Lord, she immediately began serving as a faithful member of the Missionary Ministry.
Linda Johnson was known everywhere for her big beautiful smile and sense of humor. Never to take nonsense from anyone.
Linda loved her community and until her decline in health in recent years, she volunteered her service on the James Weldon Johnson Tenants Association. Linda also devoted her time as an active Poll Worker for the Board of Elections for numerous years.
Linda leaves to mourn her memory: her daughter, Denise Johnson-Phillips; son-in-law, Johnathan L. Phillips; granddaughter, Nykia D. Phillips; two sisters, Mary Agnes Spann of South Carolina and Gertrude Burns of New York City; sister-in-law, Julia Anderson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends to remember special times spent with her.
