Richard was born in England, UK to parents Leon and Carmen Maycock on April 23, 1961. He was the youngest of three children.

Richard attended elementary school in Coventry until the age of seven.

Richard and his brother Glenvare later settled in Barbados, West Indies with their grandparents Wilfred and Miriam Hurley who were instrumental in their educational development.

In Barbados, Richard excelled at school and eventually gained a scholarship to study at the prestigious Combermere Secondary School. As a teenager, he later joined his mother in New York and graduated from Rice High School in New York.

Richard was very academic and held various significant positions. He was a great Poker player and enjoyed it so much that it became his main hobby. He also enjoyed Caribbean cuisine and listening to 1970s music.

Richard departed this life on April 30, 2025. He will be dearly missed by his sister Beulah, niece Hayley and nephew Adrian. He will also be missed by his partner of many years, Lillie Gaston

, and other relatives and friends, including Lindel Richards and Clarence

Jenkins.
