Obituary

Jeanette Yvette Johnson was born to the late Viola Betine and Benny Johnson on August 31, 1956 in Brooklyn, New York. She was the 4th of 10 children.

Jeanette was a daughter, sister, mom, grandma, cousin and friend. Above all, she was a MOTHER. She had a heart of gold that shimmered on not just her biological children but those who presented themselves to her. Jeanette knew God and was very grateful for all he had done for her. She was also very thankful for being with her during her illness. She knew it was God who kept her here, and for that, the family was blessed, honored, and humbled. Jeanette had a special kind of love for her sisters that was infrangible. When they were together, the world had no ending. They shared so much sunlight, but today, it turns to darkness. Jeanette loved decorating. She always said, "I bought it because I liked it." She didn't care what others thought and always had a smile. Jeanette valued family. She did whatever it took to make sure everyone had what they needed, even if she had nothing in the end. Jeanette knew how to make sacrifices look like blessings, and the days continued. Her favorite color was royal blue, noting her personality of reliability and trustworthiness, the color of power, spirituality, strength, intuition, inspiration, and inner peace, and today, blue, "The color of the sky. "Jeanette enjoyed horror flicks and trips to Coney Island and Atlantic City.

Jeanette's memories will always be cherished by her family and friends. Those memories will linger in the hearts of five children; Lawrence Gamble, Kim Gamble, Denasia Johnson, Quadir and La'King Johnson; and a loving daughter,Snowden Jeter preceding her death. She has four grandchildren, the loves of her life. Nine siblings: Loretta, Brenda, Marie, Christine, Jacqueline, Vanessa, Darryl, Nicole, and Latoya; two brothers-in-law, James and Ernest. Lastly, she leaves behind a host of beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
