Obituary

Miss Jacqueline Bennell McEachin, daughter of the late Rosa Nell McEachin and Oscar Majette. Jackie, we call her, was born in Lumberton, North Carolina, on June 17, 1952 and died on March 2, 2022. At an early age, she was bought to live in New York. She developed chronic asthma and had to live in Maxton, North Carolina with our grandmother, the late Fannie Mae Malloy, where she went to school there. During school break, she would visit with her siblings in New York. She attended R.B Dean School. She was very smart and bright that is what teachers would say about her. It was the truth. Once she entered High School, she ran for F.H.A and won as their queen. She was also on the cheer leading squad. She loved dancing and kidding around. When Jackie graduated from Maxton High in 1970, she was with child in which she left Maxton and came to New York to live. Her Grandma never knew it. Once arriving in New York she started working for Finest, a supermarket, while pregnant. She delivered a beautiful baby girl named Michelle Patrice McEachin father Nathaniel Malloy. Jackie stay in New York where she worked for a while, and raising her daughter. She had two more children, Major Thomas (Jr.) McEachin and the late Marjorie Sherelle McEachin who preceded in death. Jackie had a heart for caring for her family. She also loved her two cats, Spade is now deceased and frisky is still very much alive. If there was anything she could do for you she would. She was a very good cook. Her family loved her potato salad, which was her trademark. Jacqueline passion was being a champion for people especially children with special needs. She had a funny sense of humor. Her nephew, Donnell, will always catch her off guard when she would call on the phone that made her laugh. Petra called her often making her feel good by uplifting her spirit. She said her nieces text, called me today and we had a good time. They miss her already as we all do. She loved listening to me explaining to her some of the characters in the Bible. She got a kick out of how I would initiate each of them. I will truly miss her deeply. She leaves behind: three handsome grandsons, Terence Juston, Wayne Tyler and granbaby Marc Steven; two sisters, Jo-Ann McEachin of the Bronx, New York and Linda Majette of New Jersey; one brother, James Oscar McEachin of Maxton, North Carolina; nieces, Kimmie (Todd) of Connecticut, Joanne of Newburn, Sherniece (Joe) of New York, Jewel (Alicimier) of th Bronx, Marquis of the Bronx, Judy (Michael) of New Jersey, Petra of the Bronx; nephews, Donnell (Denise), Marquis, Cory and Rashad; grandnieces, Jasmine, Dasaniera, Deanna, Jaelyn, Amya; grandnephews, Alicimier, Amri, Justin, Deon, Michael, Aidan; and a host of great grand nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. "If a man dies, can he live give? I will wait all the days of my compulsory service until my relief comes. You will call, and I will answer you. You will long for the work of your hands" John 14:14-15. We will see you later, Ma. Hugs and kisses
