Ilona Starckey was born in New York City, New York to her parents, Constance Minor and Sylvester Minor on September 15, 1960. Ilona attended school in New York City. Ilona met Thomas Starckey on October 31, 1985. It was love at first sight, as they were married ten months later on August 2, 1986. Ilona and Thomas were blessed with a baby boy, James Starckey, in January 1990. This would be Ilona's second blessing. Her first blessing was son Nathan Manigo, Jr. in January 1980. This marriage lasted thirty-one years. Ilona worked 10 years for Dennelisse Corporation as a family worker. Ilona was a naturally loving and caring person, so the job came easy to help families in need. Ilona attended Eureka Baptist church in Harlem, New York with her husband and children. She enjoyed music, dancing, and handball. Ilona was known for her beautiful smile, kindness, cheerful attitude, and strength. Ilona is just an angel beautiful inside and out. Throughout the years, Ilona became an inspiration to many, showing strength and her "love life" message will always be remembered. She departed this life on March 13, 2022. She always had special thoughts of her late sister Cheryl, who she looked up to and always asked about. She leaves to mourn and cherish fond memories: her husband of thirty-one years, Thomas Starckey; two sons, James Starckey, and Nathan Manigo; two grandchildren, Tionna and Nathan; her mother, Constance; her sister, Kiwana; two brothers, Sylvester and Tony; and multiple nieces, nephews, aunts and cousins.
