Hilda Ann Rock was born on June 23, 1932 to the late Hamilton and Anna George. Another daughter, Marjorie and a son, Frederick were also born to that union. Both preceded Hilda in death.
Hilda graduated from New York Vocational High School and attended New York City Community College for one year.
On June 21, 1952, she married Edward Rock who preceded her on January 8, 1989. Now, they are united again. They had three children, daughter, Crystal, (who preceded her in death, July 28, 1999), son, Keith and daughter, Courtney.
Hilda joined St. Thomas The Apostle Church in 1953. She was an Eucharistic Minister and a member of the Parish Council. Upon its closing, she joined St. Joseph of the Holy Family Church where she made many new friends. Hilda became a member of the Catholic Women of Harlem where she served as Financial Secretary.
She leaves to mourn and cherish fond memories: son, Keith; daughter, Courtney; grandchildren, Ernest, Lashawn, Ashley, Jordan, Joycelynn and Allyson; eighteen great grandchildren; three nieces, Diane Timmons (Ronald), Debra Spells, and Bettina Mills; several great and great great nieces and nephews; several cousins; her godchildren, Juanita Woodson, Marcel Rock, Anna Peacock, and Telegra Shipman; her adopted and devoted godson, Derek Rock; and Gladys Walker. Hilda will also be mourned by her close extended family, the entire Rock family, her sisters/friends, Beverly Smith, Anita Cleaton, Doris Beabury, and Mattie Sellers.
May the God of all of us, grant you everlasting life and peace in the hereafter, as you know and we are yet to encounter. We loved you but God loved you more.
Love, Your Family
