Obituary

Gregory Harvin was born in Clayton, Alabama to his proud parents Daniel and Jewelean Harvin on July 24, 1961. He was the first of three children. After Greg was born the family settled in New York City Gregory attended elementary school P.S. 57, then went to Junior High School 117 here in East Harlem. He then went on to graduate from Charles Evans High School in 1979. From there, he attended Borough of Manhattan Community College. While in high school, Gregory began working each summer via the Summer Youth Corp Project doing various jobs around the city. It was during his time at Boys Club of America where he began to show interest in computer literacy. Gregory's first full time employment was through Chase Manhattan Bank at 1 New York Plaza. He later worked at a few other firms all within technology field. His last employment was with Computa-Center an affiliate of Credit Suisse Group where he worked for the past few years. Gregory's reserved easy going nature made him well liked to all who met and or worked with him. He reached out to help anyone he could because that's who he was. Greg was not married nor did he have any children. Gregory departed this life on January 8, 2021. He leaves behind to celebrate his homecoming: his loving mother, Jewelean Harvin; his sister, Theresa Harvin; his brother, Reginald Harvin; and his niece, Kelli Grant, who he just adored tremendously. Gregory also leaves to cherish his memories: a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends here in New York, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Maryland, Michigan and Florida. Gregory will be dearly missed by all whose lives he touched. Lovingly submitted by the HARVIN Family
