Geraldine Parker Whitaker was born on May 15, 1944 in Tarboro, NC. Geraldine departed this life on Monday, September 21, 2020. Geraldine attended school in Tarboro, NC and was affectionately known as "Pig". Geraldine worked providing cleaning services in hospitals and worked in offices at the Epiat Building in NYC. Geraldine loved to read, write and enjoyed sewing. Writing poems was a favorite past time for Geraldine. Geraldine is remembered by her pretty brown eyes and her heart of gold which made everyone around her happy. Geraldine's loving heart was felt by everyone and she was always willing to help when someone needed her. She was the "Queen of Hearts" to all her family and she will be truly missed. Geraldine was united in holy matrimony to Charles Whitaker in 1960. This union was blessed with four children, Wayne, Charles Jr., Toni and Trina. Geraldine's children as well as her grandchildren and great grandchildren were the apple of her eye. Geraldine leaves to cherish fond memories: her husband, Charles Whitaker; two sons, Wayne Parker (Yolanda), and Charles "Boo" Whitaker, NC (Renee); two daughters, Toni Osborne (Calvin) and Trina Fowler (Timothy) twelve grandchildren, Kenny, Maurice, Jermaine, Hasaan, Keith, Monifa, Calvin Jr., Mariah, Jennifer, Christopher, Malachi and Tishwana; six great grandchildren, Ricoh, Mark, Ashley, Zaerion, Debray and Christopher Jr.; two brothers, Robert Parker and Alston "Shorty" Parker, NC, (Rita); one sister, Gladys Bullet, NC, (George); three nephews, Michael, Darnell and Junior. Geraldine was preceded in death by her mother, Bertha Parker; two brothers, Leon Parker and Earl Parker; and one grandson, Charles Elliot. The family wishes to acknowledge with deep appreciation the many expressions of love, concern and kindness shown to them during their time of grief and wishes to express appreciation for those who kept her smiling and laughing. Geraldine was an angel to everyone and is gone too soon. May she rest in peace in God's loving arms.
