Gary was born to Robert W. Lee and Mary Magdeline Simmons Lee in Harlem Hospital on September 9, 1954. He was the baby brother of Marcia, Sharon and Denise Lee.
Gary was 4 years of age when his mother departed this life leaving the responsibility to his father and sisters to raise him. He never knew his mother. All three sisters became his mother.
Gary had a son, little Gary Leggett. Through little Gary, he had a host of grandchildren. Gary was in an accident that caused him to become disabled, and legally blind the remainder of his life.
Gary was a loving, gentle person with an excellent spirit that even animals were aware of. When he went to the park, the squirrels would come up to him and eat out of his hand. He loved animals.
Gary leaves to mourn: his sisters, Marcia, Sharon, and Denise Lee; his nieces and nephews, Derrick Tartt, Frankie Ellison, Shawn and Quanne Williams, Narii, Jayda, Joseph, Nyla and Monique; of course I can't forget our adopted Craig family, Patty, Regina, Cheryl, and Michael; his close friends Calvin, Lawrence, Tubar and Paul; and a host of family and dear friends.
My brother you will be missed and not forgotten.
We will always love you. You are in our hearts.
