Obituary

Evelda Walker was born at Saint Luke's Hospital to her loving parents, Prentice Walker and Ophelia Odessa on February 8, 1967. Evelda attended Elementary and Junior High School in New York and then went on to graduate from Saint Michael's High school in Manhattan. Evelda, being an extremely hardworking woman, later obtained a job working for the New York City Housing Authority. Prior to that, she pursued her career as a Dietary Aide at Lenox Hill Hospital. Evelda was a devoted Christian woman who would faithfully attend Outreach Baptist Church in Harlem. Evelda was a devoted mother and wife. She enjoyed singing, cooking, and spending time with her friends and family. She encouraged, supported, and pushed everyone she loved. Evelda departed this life on May 1, 2021 and goes on to join her parents, as well as two other females who were mother figures to her, Virginia Johnson and Carrie Alston. Evelda leaves to mourn and cherish fond memories: her four sons, Dante Pinnock, Devon Pinnock, Dennis Knox and Dennaeus Knox; four grandchildren, Khya Pinnock, Amir Pinnock, Peyton Pinnock and Dior Pinnock; her husband, Dennis Knox; six sisters, Connie, Nadine, Delores, Kwauna, Beryl and Cynthia; three daughters, Kristel Caldwell, Shaakira Harewood, and Deonee Moultrie; and a host of nieces, nephews and close friends. Evelda will be dearly missed. She touched many hearts, and she will surely live on through us all. Lovingly submitted by, The Family
