Obituary

Ms.Dorothy Blanche Paschall, daughter of the late Clinton and Emma Paschall, was born in Warren County, North Carolina on May 13, 1933. Dorothy received her early childhood education in the Warren County school system. Dorothy received her Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education at AT&T College where she joined a sorority. Soon after, she became a swimming instructor. Dorothy, affectionately known as "Dottie" or "Dot", was a faithful hard worker. She also had a loving heart but was very stern in her ways. When Dot was mobile, she was known for her "MORE MENTHOL" cigarettes and Budweiser beer while her stories of Dr. Martin Luther King would be repeated until you knew it forwards and backwards. Dorothy worked until she was seventy one years of age, looking mighty young and jazzy with her jeans and bucket hat. After retiring in 2009, her health began to fail. She was taken care of by her daughter, Alicia and granddaughters. Dot would never complain of pain; she would just say "I AM O.K. BECAUSE, I AM HERE". On February 26, 2014 at 11:57 p.m. in Harlem Hospital, the Lord called her gentle spirit home to rest. She will join her companion of seventeen plus years, Walter T. Goins, and her siblings, Hattie Davis, Gladys Mitchell, Alvis Paschall and Thomas Paschall. Dorothy leaves to mourn and cherish fond memories: her devoted daughter, Alicia Paschall and her oldest daughter, LeeAnn Yates; three granddaughters, Taylor Jones (Dot's "Tay Tay"), Nicole Pough-Royster (Dot's "Cole") and Jacqulynn Paschall (Dot's "Nellie"); one grandson, Michael Yates (Dot's Boo) and one great grandson, Nasir Paschall, who loved his "g-gma" very much. Dorothy will be missed by her siblings, Viola Russell and Lucy Talley; also to cherish memories are a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that will truly miss "DOT" because she touched so many lives with her warm heart.
