On September 28th, 1942 Elliott was born to the late Lucius and Madeline Leaf, in Sumter, South Carolina. He was the youngest of four children. Elliott moved to New York City at the age of 17. He worked as a Supervisor at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison Law Firm for over 30 years, until he retired in 2010. On a New York City subway, a chance encounter and persistence, lead to Elliott meeting and later marrying the love of his life, Iola Rivers-Leaf, on April 29th, 1996 Elliott enjoyed watching movies and was a huge fan of the Jets, Yankees and Knicks. He also loved to travel and enjoyed going on trips with his family. He accomplished many wonderful things throughout his lifetime but one of his most important achievements was obtaining his GED in 2018. Elliott Leaf, affectionally known as "Ellie" of Newburgh, NY, peacefully entered into eternal rest at Nyack Hospital in Nyack, NY on Wednesday, September 09, 2020. He was 77 years old. Elliott was a humble, loving person who took care of all his family and friends. He will be missed dearly.   Elliott leaves to cherish fond memories: his loving wife of 24 years, Iola Rivers-Leaf; his children, Rhonda Rivers and Michael Leaf; his grandchildren, Michael Leaf Jr., Keveena and Aisha Weldon, Darcelle Malloy and Jasmine Leaf; his great grandson, Joshua Malloy; his three siblings; his nephew, Sammy; his nieces, Claudia, Evelyn, Natalie, Mary, Ann, Ledy, Kita and Marilyn; and a host of family and friends.
