Obituary

Our beloved Ella Emily Jones, the third child of her parents, Erroll Marshall Fraser (July 28, 1898) from Trinidad, British West Indies, and Ethel Stephenson-Fraser (1901) from Kingston, Jamaica, was born on Wednesday, November 2, 1927. Mrs. E. Fraser arrived in New York at the entry of Ellis Island on November 21, 1919, as a single woman. They were immigrants who came with the goal of making a rich life for themselves. They married and had eight children, Ruby Gordon, Gloria Fraser-Wemberly, Ella Fraser (Gooden) (Jones), Jackie Fraser (Daughtry), Nancy Fraser, Henry Fraser, Marion Fraser (Fernandez), and Alexander D. Fraser.

Ella Jones resided in Brooklyn, NY, where she attended school and made a life. She graduated and began a career as a teacher at Bishop Loughlin Memorial High School. She later redirected her employment path and worked at The United States Postal Service, where she retired.

Ella Jones married Thaddeus T. Gooden and gave birth to Eric Gooden, Kathleen Gooden-Hairston, and Brian Gooden. They divorced.

Ella Jones then married Joseph Jones and gave birth to Erroll Raymond Jones. Her life was filled with joy as she loved her children.

Auntie Ella enjoyed life with her family. She was a devoted Catholic and attended Mass faithfully on Sunday at St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church on 43rd Street, NY. She endured hardship as life threw stones. She found solace in God.

Her life was filled with adventure as she loved hanging out with her husband, Joe, riding their motorcycle. She enjoyed partying with her family and friends. She loved to ride bikes, road trips, roller skating, and you name it, she did it. She loved the movies and music.
