Obituary

Elizabeth Ann Hobbs Nash, the eldest of four children, was born to James and Gladys Lucas Hobbs on December 17, 1934 in Wilson, North Carolina. Quietly and peacefully, "Bookie Ann" (as she was lovingly called by her family) transitioned from the earthly life to eternity on February 14, 2021 from St. John's Episcopal Hospital in Far Rockaway, New York, Reared in the Wilson Community, Elizabeth developed her life's values; received her Christian education; and attended the public schools, graduating in the class of 1950 from Charles H. Darden High School. She furthered her education for two years at Fayetteville State University in Fayetteville, NC and then ventured to New York City. While in New York and until her retirement, Elizabeth was employed by the City of New York. She met and married Stanley Nash who preceded her in death. During their marriage, they attended Concord Baptist Church where he served as Deacon. Though basically a "homebody", "Bookie Ann" was a fun-loving person who loved her family, church, and neighbors. Elizabeth leaves lasting memories to her sons, Don and Kenneth Hobbs; sister, Joyce Hobbs; brother, Harold Hobbs (Louise); nephews; nieces, including a devoted niece, Debra H. Farmer; and other relatives and friends, including a close family friend, Minister Ollie Ross.
