Eddie Gilyard Jr., aka "Buddy," was born in New York, NY, to his lovely parents, Eddie Sr. and Dorothea Gilyard, on May 18, 1965. He was the second of three children.

Eddie Jr. attended Julia Richmond High School in New York City. After high school Eddie Jr. worked in the garment district in Manhattan for several years. After that, he found his new passion, working as a construction worker with Local Union 79.

Eddie Jr. had a good heart. He was generous with his time helping others in need. He loved his family dearly. He made sure that his family was taken care of. These qualities made Eddie Jr. a fun and loving person to be around.

Eddie Jr departed this life on November 13, 2022, and has gone on to join his father, Eddie Sr.

He leaves to mourn and cherish his fond memories: his mother, Dorothea; his sister, Linda; his brother, Michael; his children, Eddie Naquan, Tahira, and Keeyon Elijah; and a host of nieces, cousins, relatives, and friends.

Eddie Jr. will be dearly missed by all whose lives he touched.
