Dorene Lanette Harrigan was born to the late Jean Cooper and Larry Harrigan on December 30, 1965, at Metropolitan Hospital in New York, NY. She was the first of two children, herself and her sister, Precious. She graduated from Park East High School then later graduated with an Associate Degree from Bronx Community College, majoring in Social Work. Dorene pursued a career in service where she passionately helped others. Dorene met Sebastian Halsey and they married on June 28, 2004. This union was blessed with four children Shakiela, Sabrina, Quentin and Isaiah. Dorene volunteered for many homeless shelters, soup kitchens and other humanitarian efforts. For many years, she worked as a Clerical Associate for New York City's Department of Health and Mental Hygiene until her departure. In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking, reading the Bible, traveling, and spending time with family. Dorene departed this life on June 30, 2021 and has gone on to join her parents and her beloved husband, Sebastian. She will always be remembered as a selfless woman with a heart of pure gold. She leaves to mourn and cherish fond memories two daughters, Shakiela and Sabrina; two sons, Quentin and Isaiah; one granddaughter, Paige; one sister, Precious; and a host of other relatives and dear friends.
