Dion
Williams
Jun 21, 1973 — Feb 15, 2023
Dion Williams was born in Harlem Hospital on May 21, 1973. He was the beloved son of Louis N. Williams and the late Georgia M. Williams.
Dion attended Martin Luther King Jr. High School and graduated in 1990. In 1995, Dion enlisted in the U.S. Navy and then transferred to the Army, where he served for several years. Throughout his adult life, Dion acquired many certifications and accolades. In 2016, Dion graduated with his culinary certification in Providence, Rhode Island. He graduated with Chef's Honors and was elected by his peers to deliver the class speech for their graduation ceremony.
In his own right, Dion was a natural-born socialite. Dion could never walk through the streets of Harlem for more than one block without being stopped by someone that knew him. Dion enjoyed sports such as basketball, football, and golf. He had a special love/hate relationship in his heart for the N.Y. Knicks. Dion cherished spending quality time with his family and friends. In his spare time, Dion loved to cook, read books, play chess, and watch his most favorite 7 p.m. T.V. program: JEOPARDY. At public gatherings, Dion always made it his priority to be the life of the party, ensuring he could have each individual in the vicinity laughing at his jokes and impersonations. And if Dion wasn't able to mesmerize someone with his words, his stylish attire spoke a completely different language - no words needed.
On February 15, 2023, Dion departed this life peacefully and went on to join his mother, Georgia M. Williams, and his beloved nephew, Joshua Belmar.
Dion is survived by his father, Louis M. Williams; his siblings: Venessie (Carl) of Holly Hill, SC, Tammy and Michelle of Bronx, NY, Lewis of Willingboro, NJ, and Lenell of New York, NY; four beloved children: Courtney Williams of Yorktown Heights NY, along with her mother, who he truly cherished, Patrice Gamble of New York, NY; Christopher Williams and Carina Williams of San Diego, CA; and Chase Williams of New York, NY; four beautiful grandchildren: Sydney, Titan, Cairo, and Mia; one aunt: Ethel Fogle of New York, NY; nephews and nieces: Andrea, David, Jarius, Jessica, Joseph, Nyasia and Carl Jr.
We also can not forget that he is survived by a host of family, friends, and loved ones.
