Diana Simmons was born in Manhattan, NY, to her parents, Mattie Weldon and Sunny Simmons. She was one of four children. The family moved to Brooklyn, NY, when Diana was a young girl. She graduated from Washington Irving High School and later attended Bronx Community College. She worked as a teacher's aide and as a drug and health counselor for those struggling with addiction at an organization called Health People. She retired after many years of dedicated service.She was a member of First Calvary Baptist Church. Diana was a great inspiration to all, with a beautiful sense of humor and a kind spirit. Those who knew her well knew not to mistake her kindness for weakness. She motivated many to be their best selves and loved music, dancing, and cooking. Most importantly, she cherished spending time with family and friends; nothing was more important to her than family.Diana passed away on August 4, 2026, joining her parents, her siblings Frank, Eddie, and Cheryl Simmons, and her two children, Charon and Randolph.She leaves to mourn, a host of nieces and nephews, a host of cousins, nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, two goddaughters, an uncle, two aunts, and many friends.Diana will be truly missed by all whose lives she touched.
