Obituary

Christine Squire Diaz was born and raised in Cross, South Carolina on June 1, 1943 to Andrew and Mattie R. Squire. During her early years, she attended Central Elementary and High School where she was a star basketball player. After high school, she moved to New Jersey and later New York City to began her professional career. She worked as the News Stand Manager at ConEdison Culinart for 24 years, from November 1984 until retiring in December 2009. She is preceded in death by her parents Andrew and Mattie Rivers Squire, brothers Billy and Willie Squire, III sister Ruthie, husband Reynaldo, and son Corey Diaz. She leaves to morn: her beloved children Verna Squire Wade (Donald) of Matthews, NC; Diana Audrey Squire (Leon) of Charleston, SC and Rodney Squire (Lissette), of New York, NY and her brother Henry Squire of Elmont, Long Island. Her grandchildren: Kerwin Squire (Anna) Krystal Squire, Donnarae' Wade Stokes (Cameron), Kalli Wade, Aaron Diaz, Curtis Calvary, and Kalynn Hamlet; and seven great grandchildren. Nieces and Nephews: Shawn and Kemon Squire, Beverly S. Taylor, Willie Squire IV, Shawn and Jermaine Ramsey, and Veronica R. Barrott, and grand nieces and nephews as well. Aunts: Anna Mae Jones, Azalee President, Ruth Mauzon and Sadie Davis; Uncle George Squire. Special sisters Sylvia Washington and Georgianna Land; special daughters Tracy Qualles and Robin Pochie Adams; and a host of other special friends Valarie, Frances, Viola, Desi and nieces who she considered to be family and many cousins.
