Obituary

Cathy Linda Scott was born on February 20th, 1956, in Harlem Hospital to James Scott Sr. and Dorothy Mitchell, who preceded her in death. Cathy, affectionately known as "PC," was raised on 138th street in Harlem and grew up in Abyssinian Baptist Church. Cathy was educated in the New York City Public School system and graduated from Louis D. Brandeis High School. She obtained employment with the Internal Revenue Service, where she worked for multiple years.

Cathy took joy in organizing and participating in the numerous community functions for 138th street, like planning activities, music, and food to bring life to the block she loved. She also bought her family tremendous joy by assisting her big sister, Irene Scott, with a family gathering, better known as "Family Day," at her late sister's home. Her sister was her very best friend. She took pride in her family and had no problems expressing her delight with many jokes and hilarious sarcasm. Her home was open to anyone in need, especially her nieces and nephews, whom she treated as her own children. Cathy was a fantastic daughter, loving sister, dedicated aunt, and valuable friend.

On Sunday, October 23, 2022, the angels carried Cathy home. Cathy will be met by her parents, James and Dorothy, Grandmother Lillie Mae "Grand" Scott, aunt and uncle, Thelma and Billy Joshua, sister-in-law Julia "Annie Girl" Scott, brothers James, William, Dennis, and Wayne Scott, sister Irene Scott-Lee, brother-in-law Ersel Lee, niece Danielle Scott and nephews Dwayne "D1" Jones, Dinyero Scott, Wayne Scott Jr, and Sha-ron Williams.

She leaves to mourn her brother Robert "Baby" Scott, her cousin Shirley Joshua, confidant Rita Johnson and a mass of nieces and nephews. She also leaves to mourn a multitude of friends and associates who loved her.
