Obituary

Betty Ann Sampson was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, on August 15, 1923, to the late David Richardson and Beatrice Richardson. Betty passed gracefully and peacefully on Saturday, May 18th, 2024, at the blessed age of 100!

Betty was the middle child of three children. She was preceded in death by her sister and brother- Martha Richardson and Bobby Richardson. Left to celebrate her life and legacy are her beloved children, Barbara Ann Gross, Stacy Sampson, Jr., and Cynthia Sampson; one Son-in-Love, Rodney Gross; two Daughters-in-Love, Donna Sheppard and Sandra Trimble; nine grandchildren, Rajiim (& Kelly) Gross, Shawn Simpson, Rodara (& Derrick) Nelloms, Tajera Gross, Kellee (& David) Jenkins, and Stacey Sampson; and more than 20 great-grandchildren!

"Miss Betty," as many called her, also had many loved ones who didn't share DNA. Mr. Joey Clark has been like another son to her over the years. The nurses and staff at Terrance Cardinal Cooke have cared for Miss Betty like one of their own. In particular, Ms. Shontae Usman used her personal cell phone to make sure Miss Betty stayed in touch with the family. Ms. Jacqueline also played a significant part in lovingly caring for Miss Betty.

Anyone who has known Betty, Miss Betty, Nanny, or Mom knows that she made everyone feel loved. You literally couldn't leave her presence without a call or

response.

She would say, "I love you, and don't you what?"

And everyone would respond, "Ever forget it."
