Obituary

Barry Kendall Bolden was born in Camden, South Carolina, April 3, 1963, to Rita Ray Bolden and the late Roosevelt J. Bolden. He graduated from Martin Luther King High School in New York and later attended John Jay College of Criminal Law. Barry was employed by the City of New York for five years and later, employed by the United States Postal Service for 26 years. Barry was raised by his mother in the faith of Jehovah's Witnesses. He enjoyed trivia games, sports, traveling, and most importantly, spending time with family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Roosevelt J. Bolden. He leaves to mourn his passing: his mother, Rita Ray Bolden; his brothers, Johnathan E. Bolden (Maria) of Binghamton, NY and Larry Goodwin of Maryland; three nieces, Paris, Brianna, and Kyra Bolden; seven uncles, Henry Bolden (Wendy) of NYC, James Goodwin (Sharon) of Stamford, CT, Willie Goodwin (Everlee) of Norwalk, CT, Tom Goodwin of Bridgeport, CT, Michael Goodwin (Rebecca) of Camden, SC, Richard Dinkins (Mamie) of Rochester, NY, and Frank Dinkins of Camden, SC; thirteen aunts, Aunt Sadie Johnson who is 102 years old, AKA Deepie of Camden, SC, Rebecca Green of Winston Salem, NC, Lena Peel (James) of Hudson, NC, Rose Goodwin of Hampton, VA, Sara Bolden of Yonkers, NY, Azalee Bolden of Yonkers, NY, Bertha Charles of Antigua, Beatrice Bolden of Texas, Bernice Young of NC, Rose Dinkins of Bronx, NY, Liz Dinkins of Bronx, NY, Lilly Mae McDaniel of Winston Salem, NC, and Gertrude Joyner of Camden, SC; special friends, Kenneth Williams of Virginia Beach, Michael Lauritzen of Florida, John Bell of PA, Andrea Boddie, of Salem, NC, Liz Blackwell of CT, Chanda Goodwin of Norwalk, CT, and Aiesha Sutherland of Brooklyn, NY; and host of cousins, other family and friends.
