Barbara A. Harris, born on April 18, 1941, was the first of six children born to the late Essie Gilmore. Barbara (aka Bobby) resided in New York City all her life. Born in Brooklyn, she later migrated to Manhattan meeting her now deceased husband Philip Roberts Sr. She became a wife and later a mother of four. She worked for Ideal Toy Manufacturers, and the Board of Education, before retiring as a Home Health Nursing Assistant. With her caring heart and charming whit, she touched the lives of so many. When she said "I got you" she had you, no questions asked. The most generous, caring, outspoken woman you would ever meet. She embodied family, structure, and love and grace. Barbara was a loving, family orientated woman who epitomized strength and perseverance. She was a fighter to the very end and will be missed deeply. She departed this life on December 19, 2019. She was preceded in death by her mother; and four siblings, Jerry, Paul, Patricia, and Sandra. Bobby leaves to cherish fond memories: four children, Phillip Jr., Alicia, James (Marilyn), and Terry; her grandchildren, Lanita, Shylequa, James Jr., Phillip III, Jasmine, Jamar, and Ya'Ashia; her great-grandchildren, Zyquille, Ameen, Jace, and Zondae; her brother, Mario "Nino" Martinez, as well as a grand host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
