Aretha Warren was born on August 1, 1924 in Reynolds, Georgia to the late Boss and Albertha Warren. She was the fifth of eleven children. She received her formal education in Georgia.
In her late teens, she moved to New York, where she met and married Rufus Dean Paul. This union was blessed with four daughters.
Rita, as she was affectionately known, was a very loving, happy person who loved to travel, dance, sing, and cook. She treasured the time she spent with her children and entire family.
She worked as a health care provider until her health failed. She was incapacitated for several years, but she continued to smile and be happy.
Rita departed this life on November 22, 2013 and has gone on to join her daughters, Cynthia Braunson and Debbie Williams; and siblings, Lilla Pearl Warren, Gladys Johnson, Boss Warren Jr., Jewel Malloy, McKindley "Mac" Warren, Gene Warren, and Charles "Pickett" Warren.
Rita leaves to cherish fond memories: two daughters, Corliss Paul of the Bronx, NY and Cheryl Boyd (Lloyd) of New York, NY; seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; a devoted sister, Carrie E. Evans of St. Albans, NY; brothers, J. Riley Warren of New Jersey; Frank Warren of Avenel, NJ; a special cousin, Clarence Davis; a sister-in-law, Jean Warren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
