Annie Ruth Stemridge was born on March 7, 1924 to proud mother Lula May Haynes. She was educated in the North Carolina school system. She was married to Bennie Stemridge on February 28, 1942 and then moved to NY in 1945. The couple had their first child, James Prigden, on April 27,1946 and their second child Tyrone Pridgen on January 21, 1949. They also raised two children, Woodrow, who was known as "Popa" and Linda. She was a business woman and in her later years became a home health aide. Annie was called home to rest on May 1, 2014. She is predeceased by her husband, Bennie Stemridge. She is survived by: children, James, Tyrone, Woodrow, and Linda; grandchildren, Ramona Pridgen , Nancy Pridgen, Anne Woods, Derrick Pridgen , Marcus Woods , and Jeremy Pridgen; Great grandchildren Derrick Pridgen, Jr. , Mitchell Woods , Amina Lewis , Dana White , and Donte White; a host of nieces and nephews, her church family and other friends.
