As a youth, Sissy ran track and field, was great at handball and loved to party. She was on the honor roll as a high school student. She loved spending time with her cousins, with her favorite being the late Bobby Joseph. She produced her oldest son, Marvin Ray in 1978 with Marvin Jenkins. She met her husband, Kevin Milligan in 1980, and that union produced three children: Darris, Steven, and Neesha Milligan. Michelle attended church services on Sundays at the Church of Resurrection with her mother and grandmother.
Michelle enjoyed spending time in the kitchen preparing meals for her family. But, she also enjoyed eating out and loved seafood. She was a dedicated Home Health Aide for 20 years with an impeccable work ethic and a true passion for the care of her clients. She loved listening to music, while dancing to her favorite artist, Mary J. Blige and her favorite song, "Before I Let You Go," by Frankie Beverly and Maze.
Her battle with cancer demonstrated her extraordinary courage. She proved to be resilient in the face of unimaginable challenges during her life. She did this with style and grace. Despite those challenges, Michelle was a real life hero to all who knew her. She remained strong until the very end.
