Carmelita Christiana Frett, at the tender age of 93 years old, was received by Jesus' loving embrace on February 14, 2021.
Carmelita (aka "Camo" aka "Mayday") was born October 8, 1927 on the island of Saint Thomas, US Virgin Islands. Daughter to Anita (Vessup) Frett and Ernest Frett. She was the youngest of four children: sister, Mary, and brothers, Theodore (aka "Skipper" ) and Edward.
Educated at the new Herrhut School US Virgin Islands. She took her education very seriously. At the time, she also acquired a calling to nurture. She practiced nurturing with children, family, at church or with anyone who needed a hand to accomplish a goal.
She also was a fighter, not a loud or obscene but quiet and steadfast in her belief of right over wrong. While living in New York (The Bronx) with family, she found a job in the garment workers industry.
After retiring, she loved being able to help raise her grandchildren and great grandchildren. They were the light of her life. Nanny is what Kenya and Zaire called her affectionately.
She is survived by her one and only son, Lloyd David Keith; daughter-in-law, Darlene Keith; granddaughter, April Keith Johnson; grandsons, Christopher Keith and and Primus Williams; great grand children, Kenya and Zaire Redd; nieces, Desiree Frett, Marilyn Frett and Marva Lang; nephew, Albert Williams; along with a host of grandnieces, grandnephews, family, loved ones and friends.
Lovingly submitted by The Family
