Robert J. Patterson was born to Annie Mae Collier and Earnest Patterson on March 14, 1946 in Montezuma, Georgia. He attended and graduated from school in Georgia. At the age of 20, Robert relocated to New York.
On July 4, 1968, he married Margaret Felton whom he’s been married to for the last 52 years. During their union they raised two daughters, Cynthia and Violet.
Robert was employed by Hunter Paper Co. for many years. Then at the young age of 34, he had a stroke which left him disabled. However, Robert’s disability did not define him. Robert lived life with joy, strength, compassion and grace. He spent time keeping in contact with everyone. Whether it was his conversations with his grands, cousins or his nephews. You could always expect a call from him. Robert was a loving, loyal, dedicated father, husband, grandfather and friend to everyone.
Preceding Robert was his mother, Annie Mae Collier; his father, Earnest Patterson; his brothers, Joseph Kaigler and Dooley Collier; and his sister, Earnestine Willock.
Robert leaves to cherish fond memories: his wife, Margaret Patterson; his two daughters, Cynthia (Michael) Rodriguez and Violet Patterson; his grandchildren, Demetrius, Wiynter, Chassidy, Jarius and Angel; his children (they later adopted), Eric, Ben, and Tisha; his brothers, Horace Lee Patterson, Gregory Collier, and Bobby Patterson; his sister, Barbara Ann Patterson; and many loving nephews, nieces and relatives.
