Barry Albert Holley was born in Harlem, New York on September 12, 1953. He was raised at 245 W. 146th Street. He attended PS 90 in Harlem, New York and Douglas Junior High in Manhattan. He was the proud son of late Marion Smith. Barry had one sibling, the late Dorothy Sample who raised him after their mother’s passing. William Sample, Barry’s brother-in-law, introduced him to his career at General Electric.

Later in his career, Barry obtained a flower shop. this is where he developed his own entrepreneurship. Barry was adored by everyone who came into contact with his humorous personality. He was a hard worker, a genuine and humble person. He was a soft-spoken, kindhearted man of peace.
Barry was a sharp dresser. He was always coordinated from head to toe. He had an admiration for cars in his younger years. He drove Ford LTDs and Volvos. In his younger years, Barry used to like horseback riding and was a lover of old music. Some for his favorite artist were Barry White and Teddy Pendergrass. Barry liked money! He loved playing his Lotto numbers. Barry was a lover of sweets as he was an avid baker of cookies and cakes.
Barry departed this life on June 16, 2020, and went to join his mother and sister.
He leaves behind to cherish fond memories: his partner, Adrienne Reed, who was by his side until his soul left the earth. Barry Albert Holley leaves his legacy with his children in partnership with Rosalee Washington, mother of Jermaine Washington and RayShawn (Barry) Holley; as well as his children from his partnership with the late Winnie R. Burch, mother of Alexcia Daniels, Marion (Holley) Smith, and Chad Holley.
Barry’s light will shine through his grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
