Thank You For Loving Me

Thank you for raising me.
Thank you for the many times you told me “Te quiero mucho” (I love you much).
Thank you for waking up in the middle of the night to care for me- when I was sick,
Thank you for walking me to school- when I was young,
Thank you for the many times you tucked me in and say “Que Suenes con los angelitos”
Thank you for protecting me, even when I thought you were being overprotective.
Thank you for teaching me about a higher spiritual power.
Thank you for never judging me, and for always believing in me.
Thank you for the many compliments.
Thank you for buying me my first and second guitar; It’s become a life passion.
Thank you, for never criticizing me; it’s made me a confident person.
Thank you for the trips to Puerto Rico, to share time with family.
Thank you for your humor and your smiles.
Thank you for always managing well your limited income, and always providing above and beyond my immediate needs.
Thank you for being the first caller on my birthdays.
Thank you for never holding a grudge with me.
Thank you for always wanting to hear from me.
Thank you for the many phone calls.
Thank you for the first and second guitar you gave me; it’s become a life passion
Thank you for always asking, ‘what do you want me to cook for you?”
Thank you for the times you took the train in to have lunch with me, in the middle of my workday.
Thank you for being far from perfect, so I could learn about forgiveness.
Thank you for loving me like no one else has ever loved me- You taught me how to love myself.
Thank you for giving me your very best.
Thank you for teaching me how to love unconditionally.
Thank you for teaching me strength; I’ve not yet met another person as strong as you.
Thank you for your faith in God and for your daily prayers for me.
Thank you for living a long life for me.

I’ve learned that the most precious gift a mother can give a child is to truly love.
